The US is short more than 80,000 Truck Drivers
American Truckers Association (ATA): Truck Driver Shortage Hits Record High of 80,000 drivers. What’s more, if current trends continue, that number may soar to 160,000 in next few years and reach 1,000,000 in 10 years years.
Why Essex organized "Trucking Services of America"
Essex, a Petroleum Distributor, is resurrecting trucking businesses shut down due to government shut downs. It created a major shortage when 43% of tanker businesses locked their doors. To reopen businesses, a Staffing Agency was created to hire, train, and certify new drivers and management to meet demands needed in accordance to American Trucking Association.
More than 72% of the country's freight is transported by truck, making consumers reliant on these drivers. But it's a tough job to fill. Trucking companies are pushing to fill thousands of open positions to help get packages delivered on time. TSA connects the dots to improve that supply chain.
If 80,000 or 160,000 is a tough figure to absorb, ATA spoke of another, much more substantial number: One million. “To keep up with demand over the next decade, trucking will need to recruit nearly one million new drivers to close the gap caused by demand for freight, projected retirements, and other issues.”
ATA estimates that over the next decade, nearly 1,000,000 new drivers will have to be recruited to replace retiring drivers, drivers that leave voluntarily (e.g., for lifestyle reasons) or involuntarily (e.g., for driving records or failed drug tests), as well as additional drivers needed for industry growth.

Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) is a non-profit trade association that represents companies that account for the bulk of petroleum exploration, production, refining, transportation and marketing in the western states. FuelAmerica is serving Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. Arizona consumes 2.8 billion gallons of gas anniually. Americans consumed 187 billion gallons of gas in 2017
